I have a quick question regarding DeviantArt's mature/adult policy. Well, basically, what are the policies on adult themed submissions?

Because when I read the upload policies they clearly stated that they didn't allow porn of any kind, which is understandable considering that it is a genuine art site. But yet I've seen dozens and dozens of artists that exclusively post BDSM drawings, suggestive nudity shots, and heck, even unoriginal photo's of their genitals.

What's the the deal with that? I've heard someone say once ''When you create it, and intend it to be art, then it IS art, and therefor allowed''. Is this true, does that give you a free pass? I would figure not, as that would give you a loop hole to post whatever you please. Yet, I see it happen quite frequently.

So does that mean you could post pornographic content if you intent it to be art as well?
